After picking up an empty cable reel from the floor, the cable end is guided through the measuring and laying unit from a reel rack system or reel stand. The operator is fixing the cable on the reel, enters the target length on the touchscreen and starts the winding process. During the winding process, the speed can be selected variably. Shortly before reaching the target length, the device brakes and stops. The safety door is opened, the cable is cut at the marking and the drum (or cable ring) is placed back on the floor and rolled out of the unit by pressing a button.
